Reed Diffuser Instructions

I’ve compiled some useful Reed Diffuser Instructions on what you should do when setting up your Reed Diffusers and steps to get the most out of them.  I hope you find them useful.

  • Before you set up your diffuser, place a few paper towels underneath the vessel in case of spills. Avoid setting up on wooden or delicate surfaces as the oil may damage it or leave stains.
  • Unscrew the cap and remove the white EPE stopper/bung.
  • Screw the lid back on to the vessel.
  • Place the required number of reeds into the vessel and allow them to soak up the fragrance oil.
  • For larger rooms we recommend using 6-8 reeds; for smaller rooms we recommend between 4-5 reeds, depending on how strong you want the scent.
  • Place the diffuser on a mat or coaster in your desired location.
  • Spread the reeds out to allow the air to circulate between them.
  • Place the diffuser out of reach of pets, children and anything that might cause it to spill over.
  • Allow up to 24 hours for the fragrance to fully diffuse.
  • Periodically flip your reeds to keep the scent strong. Flip each one individually to avoid the oil dripping/splashing everywhere.
  • Don’t flip your reeds too often as this will cause the fragrance oil to evaporate faster.
  • When flipping your reeds avoid getting the oil on your fingers by either wearing disposable gloves or using tissue paper.
  • If you do accidentally get some of the oil on your fingers, wash immediately with soap and water.
  • As time passes dust and fragrance oil can clog the reeds, reducing their effectiveness. If this happens replace your reeds with new ones.
  • Once all the fragrance oil has been used, wash the bottle out with hot soapy water.
  • Bottles can be reused with the same fragrance or disposed of in the recycling bin.
  • Dispose of old reeds in the general waste bin. These cannot be recycled due to the fragrance oil.
