Candle Care Instructions

Before/During Burning

• Trim your wick before each burn, usually to about 1cm.  This allows for a clean, smoke-free burn and avoids high flames and ‘mushrooming’.
• Remove any debris from the wax before burning.
• Always light your candle away from draughts, open windows and items that can catch fire.
• Do not place candle in full sunlight as this could cause the fragrance to weep out of the candle and have an impact on how the wax behaves.
• Place candle on a level, heat proof surface.
• Never move a candle once lit.
• Burn out of reach of children and pets.
• Burn your candle for 3-4 hours at a time, allowing the wax to melt all the way to the edges.  This prevents the candle from ‘tunnelling’ and ensures an even burn.
• Never burn longer than 4 hours as this could cause the container to become very hot and shatter.
• Please note that the container may get hot during burning.

After Burning

• After each burn, and once wax has cooled slightly, straighten the wick using a dipper tool so that the candle will burn evenly next time.
• After use, and once wax has completely cooled, replace lid to avoid dust and debris from settling on the surface.
• Stop burning the candle when less than 1cm wax remains to prevent the container from becoming too hot.
• To remove wax from container when finished pour boiling water into the jar, leaving approx 1” of space at the top.  This hot water will melt the wax, causing it to float to the surface.  Leave to cool then remove the wax.  Avoid any wax going down the sink.
